Good day gentlemen

Please take note that the emergency communications division of the South African Radio League; HAMNET, will be holding a blackout exercise from 10:00UTC on Saturday the 29th August 2020 until 10:00UTC on Sunday the 30th August 2020. We will be using JS8Call, Winlink P2P and phone as required. The frequencies we intend to use are as per the attached PDF.

If you come across messages on these bands they may include cryptic messages (not encrypted) and we will steer away from any messages which can be construed as true emergencies, but our messages may include positions and 'sitreps'. Please feel free to chip in but can we request that all interactions are kept to a minimum.

Dear colleagues, following our activities in promoting communications in emergencies, next August 23 at 12:00 UTC time to 14:00 UTC we will carry out an exercise that will comprise two parts: 

• One part will be through NETCONTROL in HF (7.110 Mhz) during several EH * NET stations will be managing the generated traffic.
• And the last will be to use the WINLINK System under the new support of VARA HF, it is important for operators in emergencies to master this "very important" tool, for this we are going to locate two stations in 7 Mhz and 10 Mhz so that they receive in "mode. p2p ".
